Pelvic floor health- Lisa Milton

I’ve been a physiotherapist for 30 years, and have postgraduate university qualifications in ‘Continence and Pelvic Floor Rehabilitation’ and ‘Conservative Management of Pelvic Organ Prolapse’.

I’ve been in practice in the central west since 2009, and have been privileged to help thousands of people with their misbehaving bladders and bowels. I also see a lot of people with pelvic pain, prolapse, and - more happily - women preparing for or recovering from childbirth.

I encourage women to be proactive about their pelvic health. For example, peri-menopause is a great time to have a pelvic floor assessment. It’s a time of life when problems such as incontinence and prolapse become more prevalent. Optimising your pelvic floor muscle control and getting on top of modifiable risk factors is really important in preventing or addressing these issues. Don’t worry if you’ve never done anything about your pelvic floor previously. It’s a judgement-free zone when you come to an appointment, and I’m here to help!

I currently work at Bathurst Specialist Centre and Orange Specialist Clinic.
